Mission Bay

A few weekends ago we spent a couple of days in San Diego. Rob's sister and her husband rented a condo right off of Mission Bay and invited us to go with them. It was a perfect vacation! The bay side ended up being so kid friendly. It wasn't swarmed with people and there wasn't so much wind. The kids had a blast and played in the sand all day everyday. Because we were right off the bay I was able to put Jovi down for all of her naps and still come out and be apart of things out on the beach. It was so nice!

We met up with some friends that were out there at the same time and they brought their surf boards and Rob was able to surf for the first time. I'm still so sad I didn't get any pictures. I was feeding Jovi behind an umbrella so I didn't even get to see him get up. Such a bummer! Besides going out for dinners we kept things pretty simple and just relaxed on the beach. It was so hard to come back home to this miserable heat. We are definitely beach bums!

The coast

We got to spend some time at the beach this weekend and it was beautiful! Nolan and I drove up to California Thursday to visit Rob for a long weekend.  For those of you that don't see us on a regular basis, you may be unaware of our exciting news...Rob got a job with his friend, kinda out of the blue, and we're going to be moving to Cali!!! He's working for his friends' Dad setting up golf netting. Yeah, it's a totally different direction then we have been planning on but when this opportunity came about and when we heard we could move to California we jumped at the chance.

Rob has been going out there for the last month, working all week and then coming home on the weekends.  We're hoping that we can make the move within the next month or two. We're kinda just waiting it out....which sucks! I'm ready to get there and start our new life already.

It was very encouraging to go visit and scout out places to live. Oh, to have our own home again!!! I'm already thinking of how I'm going to decorate...that's normal right?

We also celebrated Rob's 28th birthday while we were there. I felt bad because being out of town I wasn't really able to do all the little things that I normally do to celebrate and the fact that we spent all morning trying to find me a swimsuit because I forgot mine, didn't help either. But Rob is a sweetheart and didn't let it bother him. We spent the rest of the afternoon at the beach and ate dinner at Ruby's on the pier.

We are very excited for this new chapter in our lives. I know it will be hard being away from our families, something that we haven't done our whole married life but we know it will be so worth it. Plus it'll get me out of ugly, old Arizona....something that I have been dreaming about for years! Seriously!!
