Behind!

I am so behind in everything in my life right now.

I'm behind on...

      laundry

      editing photo shoots

      Christmas presents

ornament making (for our annual sister-in-law ornament exchange)

      cleaning

      organizing

      couponing

      blogging

Pretty much everything. Mostly due to the fact that I was sick, AGAIN, for four days! I was really quite annoyed. I couldn't have been sick at worse time, although, when is being sick ever convenient. I think it was strep throat this time around. I don't know what's wrong with me lately. I've never been one that gets sick and this last year I have been hard core sick at least four times. Probably stress.

With all the time I've spent laying in bed the last few days I started to notice how bland our room is, how bare the walls are and how badly I wished we had money for me to decorate with. I don't know why I just got the desire to make our room a little homier, after all we have been living with Rob's parents for the last 8 months and it hasn't bothered me at all. Probably because when you have an office, an entertainment room, a sewing room and a bedroom compiled into one room there's only so much you can do to make it aesthetically pleasing but I am determined. I am also determined to hardly spend any money in my new quest. How, you ask?

Well most of you know I am extremely cheap. I rarely ever pay full price for anything, which has come in extremely handy for us this last year. Even before my husbands recent unemployment, even in high school I have always loved to thrift. I love finding unique, vintage treasures. Well, thanks to some new friends in our ward I have entered the world of garage sales. I'm completely obsessed.  Here are some  some of my most favorite finds, I'll them do the talking.

lamp $1. picture $1 (I admit it's a little "Grandma Chic" but with a new coat of paint...adorable). cake plate $2. fabric samples (2 grocery bags full) $2

wire holder $1. vintage flower fabric .50

biased tape & tons of vintage lace $2 (I cannot wait to get sewing with these!!!)

vintage flower pins .50 each. necklaces .25 for both.

Can you believe that!!! Maybe it's only exciting and fabulous to me, but I don't care. I love it! I'm also very excited to start incorporating some of my finds into our room along with some other DIY projects I have in mind. I'll keep you posted.

*If anyone wants to get up bright and early with me every Saturday morning, I'm always looking for a garage salin' buddy.

**Please excuse the pictures. Awful natural lighting + lamp lighting = crappy pictures.

I was actually thinking I love the pictures! The colors are beautiful. Teach me?? I always do natural lighting. I rarely use my flash (ok never use flash) Is that bad?
Anyway.
I've been meaning to go to garage sales for forever now... I'd go with you! But how early exactly... :p

Love it all. I'm so jealous. By the time Saturday comes though, I crash. Will you shop for me though? If I give you some money? haha. No but seriously.

I'm so sorry you were sick! Did you ever try the salt water gargle?

I always feel behind. It's stressful to be a mom, taking on so much! I think it's always amplified at this time of year. Then in January I always feel like I can breath again.

I love your garage sale finds! I'd love to go out garage saling with you! I never go, because I always forget about them until late Saturday afternoons when I see the signs still up, but I missed it.

Can't wait to see what you do to your room! I love redecorating. I wish I could do it more often! I just painted my boys' room. I stayed up late the last two nights.

I'm so jealous of your creative eye. I wish I could look at something and see how to make it look cute. So if you're still looking for someone to go with you when I get home- I'd LOVE to go garage sale-ing or thrift shopping with you!

I always feel behind on about half my life. And then when I finally have a chance to catch up, I'm so exhausted I'd rather sit and do nothing and stay behind.

Sweet finds. You are creative like Angela. And I'm nothing like that. ;)
