I've been a sewing fool lately with all the birthdays and showers that come with this time of year. I finally remembered to take some pictures of the projects I finished which makes giving them away a little easier. I should just take some time and sew something for myself.
Here is a tool belt I made for a good friend's son. He is in love with Handy Manny, so I thought a tool belt would be perfect. I had Nolan model the belt for me and I was a little nervous he wouldn't want to give it up but it irritated him so much he was relieved to get it off.
Don't be surprised if your son gets the same gift, this was a super simple sew. I think next time I might applique it with some tools or the initial of the boys name.
My other dear friend is having a little girl, very soon. So for her shower I made a burp cloth, blanket and onesie. Also very simple. Here are some tutorials all from the same crafty lady, that make it very easy if you'd like to learn how to sew these. The onesie, the blanket & the burp cloth.
I didn't even think to check the spelling of the name first, silly me. I soon found out that they are spelling it with a "k" and not a "c"...awkward. I felt like a huge idiot. I took it home and quickly turned it into this.
Nice save. Now I know to ALWAYS check the spelling first.
I also made a skirt for one of my nieces from this pattern that I didn't get a picture of. Also, very simple. I've got a couple of other projects I'm in the middle of that I'll show when they're finished, hopefully this week.

Very cute. I love how you appliqued the C. Homemade gifts are just so much more special I think.
I hope everyone loves the gifts:)
I LOVE the homemade burp cloths and blankets I got from my baby shower. They are not only more personal, but they work tons better. Super cute things! The tool belt is awesome and I'm sure you could convert it to use for just about anything! You know me, I'm all about the cheap (but cool) things!
Wow! I'm super impressed.
Holy freakin' cute!! You're so darn creative! Way to go. I think it's awesome that you've got the sewing bug! There are so many fun things to sew out there. I love the tool belt!
Truly nice save with the "C"ute! Good job.
Hey, feel free to join us for our ward's sewing group sometime. Email me if you're interested.
Oh, I just realized what skirt pattern you were referring to. I love that Oliver + S pattern! I have made many of those skirts for my girls. It's super easy and cute!
I also really like A Feathered Nest. She has some cute ideas and some easy-to-follow tutorials. I made an apron from following her tutorial, once.
Impressive! I wish I had the time!!!!
Tiffany, thanks for the comments on my blog. You can totally do a half-marathon! I absolutely understand about the desire to run one, but no motivation. Register for a race and then you'll be committed. Then you'll feel the motivation - 'cause you want to be ready for it. Eventually you'll really love the running and especially the long runs. I look forward to the long run every week. I know I need the short runs too, but I just really love everything about the long runs. It's a huge high for me. :-)
Good luck! You can do it!!
love it all, especially the blanket/onesie/burpcloth. nice save with the 'c'!
What lovely things. That little tool belt is totally cute. I'm glad you were able to save the "C" because it is darling.
Ya Parker just loves the tool belt. What a cute idea. You are just so freaking talented. It amazes me!! Love love the baby presents. I think I just might get pregnant again so I can receive something like that.
I wish I could be as creative as you... but I've come to terms with it. That'll never be me, haha.
That's darling!!
Thanks for saying hello on my blog. I love new blog friends!
Those turned out so cute! I want to try and make some.. Thanks for the links!
