Sickness & Mothers Day

My poor baby has been sick for the past week. It first started off as pink eye and soon turned into some viral throat thing. He's got a nasty cough and has just wanted to sit and watch movies all day. We've spent most of our days like this...

Which I've actually enjoyed. It's not very often that'll he'll let me cuddle with him anymore. Through the endless amount of Baby Einstein , I was able to make some gifts for my mom & mother-in-law for Mother's Day.

It's a moisturizing hand scrub and hand towel. I got the idea for the hand scrub HERE and the dishtowel I saw HERE. I pretty much just drew my own rose design and hand stitched it on. I also had some time to sew up an apron for my mom, while Rob was having some guy time with my brothers.

I got the pattern HERE. I changed it a little bit. I used binding around the edges instead of using a back piece and I put a pleat in the middle of the apron, which I wished I wouldn't have made so long, oh well.

My sweet little sister made me this adorable book. It's all about me and being a mom.

My darling husband made me the cutest little coupon book.

These are just a few of my favorites. There is also one for a day all to myself, free errand running (with no complaints), 10 compliments and a few too personal to share ;) He sure knows how to make a girl feel special. I think he's starting to realize that no amount of money can buy thoughtfulness.

I just want to publicly say how lucky I am to have such a wonderful woman as my mother. I'm so blessed to have my mom be truly one of my best friends. I confide in her for everything. She is there whenever I need her. She is always so willing to do all she can to help me. She has showed me how to be a kind, loving and patient mother. She wasn't a perfect mom. She made mistakes, which I am now so grateful for. It has taught me that I can't expect perfection from myself. Even on my bad days, my child will love me. I know that I am bound to make mistakes but there is always tomorrow to strive to be a little better. Without her I would not be the mother I am today.
